I have always been drawn to cartoons. I like that they don’t have rules. I like thick black outlines on two-dimensional drawings: they’re primitive yet modern, simple, yet capable of carrying tremendous complexity.

 

A cartoon is anything you want it to be; it creates space for imagination to take over to unveil truths we’d like to see in reality.

Drawing is the way I make sense of the world. My work is shaped by places I travel, history I study, and the people and animals I love. I enjoy turning those experiences into imagined worlds that invite viewers to step inside and find their own way through.

I hope my work gives people a place they’d like to return to.
